So, the big vacation is coming up. My Mom, my brother and his wife, my nephew and I will be loading up the minivan and driving to Branson. Not the best gas prices for a car trip vacation, but I am looking forward to it anyway. I'm purchasing the in car DVD, and really by the time we've watched Ratatouille and Monsters, Inc. we'll be half way there. No biggie.
But, have you been there? Do you have recommendations as to what we should do with an age range of 7 - 78? It seems like everyone has been to Branson, except for us. Are there good shows that we shouldn't miss? The best funnel cake you've ever experienced? Let me know, otherwise I may just be at the pool.

YAKOV SMIRNOFF! YAKOV SMIRNOFF! YAAAAAKOOOOOOOOOOV SMIIIIIIIIIIIRNOOOOOFF!
I am physically begging you to go see Yakov Smirnoff at the Yakov Smirnoff Theatre.
I am not kidding.
Although I do not have any firsthand experience of Comrade Smirnoff's comedy, I did enjoy him greatly on his numerous "Night Court" appearances in the mid-to-late Eighties.
And he's in Branson now.
Can't help you with this one . . . but I've heard it's the "Myrtle Beach of the Midwest." So if you like it, and you want to go to the ocean next time, check out MB.
For the record, I asked around at work on Friday, and the people who had most recently been said go see the Japanese violinist guy, some family act called the Hughes Brothers, Andy Williams + Ann Margaret, and the showboat that goes up and down the lake.
I have also heard great things about the Japanese violinist guy from others. I am not sure, but I think that my brother and sister-in-law may have already seen him. Thanks for the suggestions! I will fill you in when I return next week!
